I couldn’t not post this because thanks to this man there are so many of us reading books. Most of us were introduced to reading with books like those of Roald Dahl and Dick King-Smith and if it wasn’t for these amazing stories would we have continued to pick up books and thrive on the worlds inside them?? I vote the answer to this would be NO!!
Today we went to a reading of some of Roald Dahl’s work at the local library and it was lovely to see the kids that turned up. Us ‘grown ups’ (very loosely using this phrase because I refuse to grow up) were reliving the stories we heard/read as kids which made it a lovely wee bit of time for all involved.
Who doesn’t remember ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’, the very clever foxy who was determined to outsmart them farmers? Or what about ‘Matilda’, the highly intelligent little girl with magical powers and a horrid family? Oh and then there’s ‘The Twits’ the awful old man and woman who were mean to each other and all around them be it birds or their poor monkeys!!
I am quite sure we all have a favourite that this wonderful man wrote and is forever engrained in your mind. I have named mine, what are your favourite books by Roald Dahl??
