After surviving an attack, where all her friends have died, Quincy ends up being known as a ‘Final Girl’. This is the same story for both Lisa and Sam, these were separate incidents but the same story for all three. The girls seek each other out and over the years have kept in contact, however, they never meet.
One day the news breaks that Lisa has committed suicide and the detective who found Quincy, on the night of her dreadful situation, meets up with her and they talk about what has happened. We find out that they have been keeping in contact over the years and that Quincy has come to rely on him.
Shortly after the news, about Lisa, Sam arrives in town, after years of being ‘off the grid’, and the two get to know each other. Sam is a very unreliable character, one of those characters you are suspecting from the moment they surface. Quincy is a rather likeable character but she has a dark side that surfaces then the suspicion moves to her. Are they possibly hiding something from not only the world but possibly the reader??
The story moves at the perfect pace, springing some foxes into the chicken coop when least expected. Perfectly written and wonderfully suspenseful.
