In this book we have stories we know from our childhood, there is one I don’t remember hearing as a child but, ya know what, we have all been told different stories growing up!!

  • The Nutcracker
  • On the Farm
  • Alice in Wonderland
  • The Snow Queen
  • The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse

Alex’ favourite story in this book is The Nutcracker. It is a very enchanting wee story and she says its the reason she is recommending this book this week. From about now on we start reading a lot of Christmas stories so don’t be surprised if she starts to recommend Christmas books! Alex’ copy of this book is falling appart but she refuses to get a new one. I have books that were mine as a child and I am always worried they will get destroyed given that they have been read to death also so she is only allowed them when my husband or myself is around, reason I’m telling you this is because I really can understand where she is coming from when it comes to not wanting to replace a book. I believe she has only replaced one book in her collection and kept the origional one just so she would have it!! Anyways……back to the book! I love this wee book myself and it is perfect for kids learning to read as it has large letters and also pictures to help explain the story, we had it before Alex learned to read and would ask her questions related to the story to see if she could find the answers in the pictures. It is very well illustrated and from what I can see, each story has a different illustrator.
