#Review The Pursuit of Ordinary by Nigel Jay Cooper @nijay @JHPFiction

It is finally here!!!!!! I have been waiting on this for so long!! EEEEKKKKKKK! Do I need to review it after that intro??

Synopsis After witnessing a fatal car accident, a homeless man wanders the streets of Brighton, trying to ignore the new, incessant voice inside his head. But he cant forget the crash, can’t get the face of the woman cradling her dying husband out of his mind. She stared into his eyes, his soul. He has to find her. Is Dan mentally ill or has he really been possessed by the spirit of Natalie’s dead husband, Joe? If he hasn’t, why does she let him into her home so easily? Does she have secrets of her own? The Pursuit of Ordinary is a twisting tale of modern life and mental health where nothing is what it seems… Following the success of debut novel Beat the Rain, Roundfire introduces the second book from bestselling author Nigel Jay Cooper.

My review I have no idea where to start on my review of this so I am going to pop my Netgalley review in here so that you can get an idea of how I feel about it before the jibberish kicks in!

I read Beat the Rain and loved it but the Pursuit of Ordinary went above and beyond my expectations, in a good way!
Here we have a book that delicately deals with both mental health and mental abuse, I know this as I have lived with domestic abuse and have mental health issues.
We are seeing two terrible situations coming together, as a result of an awful event, and something far coming from it. The relationship that forms is not without its hiccups but it works.
Elequantly written and beautifully paints images in the mind. The Pursuit of Ordinary is set to be one of the best books of 2018.

Ok so as you can see, from the NetGalley review, there are a few issues addressed in this book and it is both heartbreaking and beautiful to read. My favourite character is Natalie by far, I feel such a connection with her and wanted to give her a huge hug. I did review Beat the Rain and it was in my top 10 of 2016 you can read the review here but bear in mind it was one of my first reviews.

Ooooh! Look at what is in the book!!
